Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PRO-KIT and SPORTLINE?
The PRO-KIT lowers your vehicle up to 40mm and provides a sporty yet comfortable ride — ideal for daily driving with improved handling. The SPORTLINE lowers up to 50mm with a firmer, more aggressive spring rate designed for maximum performance and a race-inspired stance. Both use progressive spring technology and are compatible with factory shock absorbers.
Can Eibach springs be used with adaptive dampers (DCC, Magnetic Ride)?
Yes. It is generally possible without any issues to combine PRO-KIT, SPORTLINE and PRO-LIFT-KIT springs with adaptive damper systems such as DCC and Magnetic Ride. The electronic damper adjustment features remain fully functional, as only the damper response characteristics change — not the damper travel.
Do I need new shock absorbers when fitting Eibach springs?
Eibach springs are designed to work with your vehicle’s factory shock absorbers. However, if your shocks are worn or have high mileage (80,000+ km), we recommend replacing them at the same time for optimal performance. For the best results, consider a B12 kit which pairs Eibach PRO-KIT springs with matched Bilstein dampers.
Will lowering my vehicle affect wheel alignment?
Yes. We recommend a professional wheel alignment after fitting any lowering or lifting springs. Follow your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications — if sport suspension alignment data is available for your model, use those settings for optimal results.
What is the lowering range stated on each product?
The lowering figures stated are approximate and measured from standard new car height as at the country of origin. The actual lowering achieved may vary depending on the age of the vehicle, current condition of the existing suspension, and whether modified or OE Sport Suspension is fitted. Vehicles already fitted with sport suspension from the factory will lower less than stated.
What warranty do Eibach products carry?
All Eibach performance springs (PRO-KIT, SPORTLINE, PRO-LIFT-KIT), ANTI-ROLL-KIT sway bars and PRO-SPACER wheel spacers carry a 5-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use on passenger vehicles. The warranty covers the original purchaser and does not cover improper installation, misuse, modification, racing use, or products transferred between vehicles.
Can I purchase directly from Eibach South Africa?
Yes, you can purchase directly through this website or by contacting us at sales@eibachsa.co.za. We also supply through a network of authorised resellers across South Africa — see our Resellers page for stockists in your area.
Can I install Eibach springs myself?
Spring replacement requires specialised tools including a spring compressor and should be performed by a qualified workshop or mechanic. Improper installation can result in injury or damage to your vehicle. We recommend contacting a professional fitment centre in your area.
I can’t find a product for my vehicle on the website. Can you help?
We have access to the full Eibach catalogue and can source products not currently listed on our website. Please email sales@eibachsa.co.za with your vehicle brand, model, engine size and year model and we will get back to you. You can also use our Can’t Find Product? page.
Installation Tips
- Always use a proper spring compressor — never attempt to remove springs without one
- Work on one corner at a time and note the routing of all brake lines, cables and sensor wiring before disassembly
- Measure ride height before and after installation
- Mark alignment-related bolts and component positions during disassembly
- Replace worn isolator pads on vehicles with 80,000+ km
- Use a torque wrench (not impact gun) for final tightening of all suspension bolts
- Re-torque bolts after the first 800 km and after any track use
- Get a professional wheel alignment after installation
